彼女の本業は、ケータリングをすることですが、「eatrip」の映画監督としてのデビューの成功をされました。

私たちは、彼女が某大手商社で仕事をしていたことなど、彼女の今までの経歴を聞くことからインタビューを始めました。

「最初会社に入ったのは、父のアドバイスでした。」
「父は、将来的にはある種のプロになることを望んでいました。しかし、個人である種のプロになってから会社（組織）に入ることはできない。会社（組織）に入ってからある種のプロになることはできるということ話してくれました。少なくとも人生のうちで一度は、会社（組織）に入ることがいい、最初にいろいろな壁があることを知ることがいい」話してくくれたので会社に入りました。

いままで、私は、自分が好きなことやライフワークにあったことを追求して、自分の人生を見つけるように言われていました。

それで、今、私は世界を作り始めました。
私は、今の暮らしにあった商品を提案することが仕事だと思ってやっています。
遠山さんは、私のことをパイオニアと呼んでくださいますが、私はいまの時代にしかできないこと、いまの場所でしかできないことを表現していきたいと思っています。
私は今の時代に生まれていなかったら、こういう仕事ができなかったと思っています。
私は人々の生きるために現実的に食べ物重要性を伝えたいと思っています。
結局は、すべての人々にとって食べ物は必要です。
特に おなかがすいているときまたは病気になったとき、
人間はだれであっても、原点（食べ物）に帰ります。
われわれにとって食べ物はいつも必要です。
生きることと食べることはいっしょであると思っています。
だから生きていくためのambitionと思ってがんばっています。

Technically a caterer by trade, Ms. Nomura is coming off the success of her directorial debut, eatrip、a documentary approach to outlining the connections in individuals’ lives to food.

We started by asking her about a surprising item on her resume: her time as an office worker.

“That was my father’s request”, she explains. “He urged me to get some kind of professional experience, at least once in my life, and that you can’t join after doing something off- the-wall first.


For the most part, I was always encouraged to pursue what I liked, but not only that, also to find my life’s work.

So now, I have created my world, and the fact that I can have a job in this world is largely a product of circumstance. You’ve called me a trailblazer, but I have mostly been in the right place and the right time. I think if I had been born long ago, what I do for a living wouldn’t be possible.

I am just addressing the actual importance of food in peoples’ lives. At the end of the day, all people need to eat. No matter what their attempts to express themselves are, when they are old or fall ill, they go back to the basics. To food.

There is always the need for food. You can, in some ways, equate eating with living. And living is fueled by ambition. Eat ambitious (sic)."

あなたはリサイクル品に興味を持っていますか?

私は、よく街中にある衣服や家具ではなく、古い食器が大好きです。
しかし、理想的に、私まで手渡されたもの、家族がずーと持っていたものが欲しいと思います。 どちらかというとリサイクル店で買われたものより家族から持っていたほうがいいです。私は基本的にリサイクル品が好きです。

多くのいろいろな人が使うことによって生まれてきたことによって生まれてきたテイストや色が好きです

このいす、ここ、現在、研究室にある私の安楽椅子。 約70年前に作られたものです

家族ですね

あなたは生まれ変わったら何になりたいですか？

最近、私の周りの人たちは、前世と生まれ変わりに関して話します。
みんなは、人間というのは前世にたびたび戻るというのですが、
私が前世から戻っていないと言われます。
みんなは、私がしばしば前世が妖精だと言います。
本当に人々を愛していた妖精だと。
だから、私は、本当の人間として戻りたいと思っています。

出品物について
アラビアポット
あまりすばらしい話を持っていませんが、
ポットは東京で使っていたのではなくて、私たちの山にある家にあったものです。
私は、アラビアンポットの全シリーズを持っています。
私は時々東京を離れて山の中で数日を過ごします


そのポットは実際にちょっと小さ過ぎました。
私たちは山では家族と過ごして、1日の間にたくさんの紅茶を飲みます。
多くのお客様を呼んで、おいしい紅茶飲んでお話しすることが好きなので、
今回出品したものは　その目的には小さすぎたのです。

Are you interested in second hand goods?

I like second-hand tableware, not clothes, and furniture. But ideally, I would like to have things handed down to me, things that have stayed in the family. I would rather have those than things bought in a second- hand shop, but I do like second hand goods.

What’s interesting about used?

Texture, color. When it looks like it has been touched by many different types of people.

Any item you especially like?

This chair, my grandfather’s chair, that is here now in the lab. From about 70 years ago.

What is your treasure?
Family.

What would you like to come back as (if possible)?

Recently a lot of people around me have been talking about previous lives and reincarnation. They say that I haven’t come back as a human being so often. They say I have often been a fairy. A fairy that really loved people. So I guess I would like to come back as a real human being.

About your items?

Arabia Pot
It doesn’t have such a great story but it is from our house up in the mountains, not a Tokyo item. And up there, we have the whole series. It makes me think of the mountains and days off.

That pot was actually kind of too small. I mean, we spend the whole day in the mountains with the family, and we drink so much tea throughout the day. And we always hope to welcome many guests and drink tea with them, so for that purpose, it is too small.
